Implementation of a modem
In order to make Small World Deluxe a truly competitive program against the likes of FreeDV and WSJT-X, we need to implement a good modem first of all. It has been recommended to us by Mark Jessop that we implement the OFDM modem by David Rowe called, Codec 2.
UPDATE [ 2020-06-06 ]
We have decided to implement the modems that are in-use with regard to JTDX (GitHub page) firstly, since the code is already written in C++ with this project so borrowing anything from here will be much easier in the long run and will allow us to reach the first Alpha stage of Small World Deluxe much quicker. It should also be noted that JTDX supports a very large range of codecs/modems which is another boon to using this project in the first place.
So far, we've added JTDX as a sub-project to Small World Deluxe under the
contrib folder within the 'sources' directory.
